Scooter
Formed in Hamburg in 1993, Scooter follows on from the early activities of H. P. Baxxter and Rick J. Jordan, who had previously been involved in the synthpop project Celebrate the Nun before developing a sound focused on rave, techno, happy hardcore and eurodance. The group built itself around a recognizable formula, made up of fast rhythms, very direct choruses, samples and Baxxter's shouted delivery, with a regular evolution towards productions closer to hardcore techno, jumpstyle, or festival-friendly dance depending on the period. From the mid-1990s, Scooter released tracks such as "Hyper Hyper", "Move Your Ass!", "Friends" or "Fire", and then established its place on European stages with "How Much Is the Fish?", "Ramp! (The Logical Song)", "Nessaja" and "Maria (I Like It Loud)". The band's trajectory is also marked by several lineup changes around Baxxter, notably Ferris Bueller, Axel Coon, Jay Frog, Michael Simon, Phil Speiser and then Sebastian Schilde. In its discography, Scooter released, among others ... and the Beat Goes On! in 1995, Our Happy Hardcore in 1996, The Stadium Techno Experience in 2003, Jumping All Over the World in 2007, God Save the Rave in 2021 and Open Your Mind and Your Trousers in 2024. Still active, Scooter today brings together H. P. Baxxter, Jay Frog, Marc Blou and Jens Thele.
