Sebastian Bach

With a high-pitched voice and roots in hard rock, Sebastian Bach has, since the late 1980s, charted a course between heavy metal, glam metal and North American rock culture. Born Sebastian Philip Bierk in 1968 in Freeport, Bahamas, raised in Peterborough, Canada, and later primarily based in the United States, he became known as the singer of Skid Row from 1987 to 1996. During that period the albums Skid Row (1989), Slave to the Grind (1991) and Subhuman Race (1995) were released, part of the East Coast hard rock and metal wave. After leaving Skid Row, Sebastian Bach pursued a solo career that combined tours under his own name, involvement in various rock projects and a regular television presence. His solo discography centers on Bring 'Em Bach Alive! (1999), which blends live recordings and studio tracks, the acoustic Bach 2: Basics (2001), and the studio albums Angel Down (2007), Kicking & Screaming (2011), Give 'Em Hell (2014) and Child Within the Man (2024), where melodic hard rock, classic metal influences and some more modern elements intersect. At the same time, Sebastian Bach appeared on Broadway stages in the early 2000s, notably in Jekyll & Hyde, The Rocky Horror Show and Jesus Christ Superstar, anchoring his career at the crossroads of metal culture and musical theatre amid international tours, rock festivals and stage productions.
