Born in the school fanfare scene of Bonn and Cologne in the early 2000s, Querbeat first developed as a brass band emerging from the Kardinal‑Frings‑Gymnasium before establishing itself on the festive Rhineland stage. The Germany‑based collective brings together a large ensemble of brass, percussion and vocals, linking Cologne’s carnival traditions with German pop and an urban fanfare aesthetic. Over the years Querbeat expanded its activity from parades and regional halls to festivals and major national stages, building an original German‑language repertoire. Their music blends pop structures with near‑rock energy, rhythms influenced by hip‑hop and funk, sing‑along choruses and prominent brass arrangements designed for both live performance and the studio. With studio albums like Lebenslang (2016) and Randale & Hurra (2018), the band cemented this brass‑pop identity in more elaborate productions while remaining rooted in the Cologne and Bonn scenes. Querbeat continues to maintain an active presence through tours, appearances at the major events of the Rhineland carnival and regular coverage in the German music media.
