Kasalla

Formed in Cologne in 2011 around singer Bastian Campmann and singer‑songwriter Florian Peil, Kasalla belongs to the Kölschrock tradition, blending rock, pop and touches of ska sung in the Cologne dialect (Kölsch). The band first established itself on local stages and at Cologne’s carnival, where its sing‑along choruses and urban‑rooted lyrics found a natural home. The release of the album “Et jitt Kasalla!” in 2012 laid the foundations for a direct style driven by melodic guitars and easily shouted refrains; “Immer en Bewäjung” (2013) further refined the balance between rock energy and pop melodies. “Us der Stadt mit K” (2014) confirmed the group’s anchoring in Cologne’s cultural imagination, and “Mer sin Eins” (2017) put greater emphasis on vocal arrangements and mid‑tempo grooves. With “Rudeldiere” (2022) Kasalla keeps writing in Kölsch while expanding its palette to include both festive anthems and more reflective tracks. Highly active live, the band cultivates an aesthetic focused on collective singing, moving between carnival celebrations, German concert halls and festivals where the dialect remains central to their musical identity.
