Sander Kleinenberg

Born in Delft and associated with the The Hague scene, Sander Kleinenberg has since the late 1980s built a career anchored in Dutch house, between progressive house, trance and melodic techno. He began DJing as a teenager, released his first tracks in the early 1990s under several aliases such as Free Frogs and S’N’S, and then established himself more broadly with “My Lexicon” in 2000, a track often linked to the era's progressive aesthetic, with its stretched pads, precise percussion and a very smooth club construction. Sander Kleinenberg then went on with productions, remixes and compilations, including Nubreed 004 in 2001, Renaissance: Everybody in 2003, This Is Everybody Too in 2004 and This Is... Sander Kleinenberg in 2007, before the 2010 album 5K, notably propelled by “Remember When” with Jamie Cullum. His career also includes founding the labels Little Mountain Recordings and THIS IS Recordings, as well as residencies and nights in clubs in New York, Ibiza, Amsterdam, Paris, Los Angeles or Moscow. Sander Kleinenberg has also worked on remixes for pop and electronic artists, while evolving his sound toward a funkier and more direct house. Another important dimension of his work lies in integrating imagery and video into his sets, conceived as a live extension of his universe.
