Sal Da Vinci

Sal Da Vinci was born in New York in 1969 into a Neapolitan family and grew up in Naples immersed in his father Mario Da Vinci's musical environment, performing on stage with him from an early age. This background rooted him in the Neapolitan song tradition while guiding him toward contemporary Italian pop. Sal Da Vinci built a dual career as a singer and actor, alternating concerts, television appearances and musical theatre, notably in Neapolitan productions that blend comedy, music and popular storytelling. From the 1990s he recorded a series of albums in Italian and Neapolitan dominated by melodic ballads, love themes and a strong attachment to Naples and Mediterranean culture. His participation in the 2009 Sanremo Festival with the song “Non riesco a farti innamorare” further broadened his national audience. His style relies on an expressive voice, classical orchestrations drawing on the canzone and Italian popular music, and more modern rhythms, maintaining a continuity between Neapolitan tradition and contemporary pop.
