Serena Brancale
Originally from Apulia in southern Italy, Serena Brancale has developed a career at the crossroads of soul, R&B and jazz, with songwriting that blends Italian song tradition, contemporary groove and phrases drawn from improvisation. A multi-instrumentalist, composer and performer, Serena Brancale gained national attention at the Sanremo Festival in 2015 with “Galleggiare,” a jazz ballad that appears on the album Galleggiare released the same year. That exposure marked a milestone in her trajectory, before she evolved toward a more nu‑soul-oriented repertoire without breaking with her jazz training or with work focused on timbre, rhythm and melody. Over the years she has also developed songwriting collaborations within Italian pop, while continuing to present her own projects on stage. Her career unfolds across festivals, jazz clubs and concert halls in Italy and abroad, in a format where vocal precision, a very distinctive low voice and careful attention to arrangements are central.
