Philou Louzolo

Born in the Netherlands and rooted through his family origins in West Africa, Philou Louzolo develops an approach to electronic music positioned between house, tech house, afro house and melodic textures, with particular attention to rhythm and the exchanges between African and European scenes. Active on the Dutch scene since the 2010s, Philou Louzolo emerged more broadly around 2016–2017, first as a DJ and then as a producer, with releases under his name and via Wokoundou, a structure he launched in 2019 to extend this artistic line. His first album was released in 2022. In clubs as well as at festivals, Philou Louzolo has performed in varied contexts, from Dutch stages to European circuits, with appearances at venues and events such as Berghain, Fabric, DGTL, Dekmantel, Lowlands and Nuits Sonores. His trajectory also includes connections with labels like MoBlack, Cacao, Secret Teachings and DGTL. At the same time he develops his own formats, notably nights in Amsterdam, where he programs house, afro and contemporary electronic music.
