Peja

Born in Poznań in 1976, Peja, whose real name is Ryszard Andrzejewski, belongs to the first generation of Polish rap and, since the early 1990s, has developed a writing rooted in street hip-hop, hardcore rap, and a more introspective rap, with productions that later incorporated trap elements without breaking from a classical base. Co-founder of Slums Attack in 1993, initially with Iceman and then with DJ Decks, Peja established himself in the Polish scene through a series of albums that became landmarks of local rap, including Slums Attack (1996), Zwykła codzienność (1997), Całkiem nowe oblicze (1999) and Na legalu? (2001). In parallel, Peja also pursued a solo career under the name Rychu Peja SoLUfka, with Styl życia G’N.O.J.A. (2008), Na serio (2009), Czarny wrzesień (2010), Książę aka Slumilioner (2014) and DDA (2016). His career also includes time with the group Ski Skład and the creation of the label RPS Enterteyment. On stage as in the studio, Peja moves between raw rap, social narratives, autobiographical tracks and collaborations with producers and rappers from different generations of the Polish scene.
