Dj Decks

Active since the late 1990s, DJ Decks, real name Dariusz Działek, belongs to the Poznań hip-hop scene in Poland, where he trained in turntablism before taking his first public steps in 1997. His career develops at the crossroads of DJing, scratching, and production, in an aesthetic rooted in classic Polish rap, mixtapes, and a markedly culture-driven approach to sound system and battle culture. Joined Slums Attack from 1998, then again within the group since 2024, DJ Decks has participated in a significant portion of Poznań rap history while pursuing a solo career built around the Mixtape series, from Rapa Attack Odsłona Pierwsza in 1998 to Mixtape 8 in 2022, including Mixtape Vol. 3 in 2003, Mixtape 4 in 2008, Mixtape 5 in 2016, Mixtape Vol. 6 and Mixtape 3654 in 2018, as well as Mixtape 7 in 2020. DJ Decks has also collaborated, as producer or scratcher, with Polish rap names such as WWO, Pięć Dwa Dębiec, Fenomen, Onar, or Kaczor. His style combines hard-hitting beats, a sense of collage, and turntable interventions that hold a central place in his tracks as well as on stage.
