Oxxxymiron

Russian-British rapper Miron Fiodorov, known as Oxxxymiron, was born in Leningrad in 1985. He grew up between Russia, Germany and the United Kingdom before studying English literature at the University of Oxford, an experience that strongly informs his writing. Oxxxymiron emerged in the mid-2000s on the Russian-speaking rap scene via forums and online battles, and later through filmed a cappella contests like Versus Battle, where his technical, text-heavy style attracted a wide audience. His debut album «Вечный жид» was released in 2011, followed by the concept project «Горгород» in 2015 — built around an urban narrative — and «Красота и уродство» in 2021, which further broadened his personal and social themes. His rap mixes literary references, political observations and introspection over productions rooted in contemporary Russian hip-hop, from dark boom bap to more modern trends. Active both in Russia and internationally, Oxxxymiron tours extensively, participates in various rap collectives and occasionally collaborates with other Russian-speaking artists from the same battle and independent concert circuits.
