Oliver Lieb

Born in Frankfurt in 1969, Oliver Lieb has built a continuous presence in the German electronic scene since the late 1980s, after starting out as a bassist in funk and soul bands. His work spans trance, techno and house, featuring progressive constructions, dense synthetic textures and a taste for hypnotic atmospheres. Highly active under his own name and numerous aliases, he has over 200 productions and remixes to his credit; key projects include Spicelab, L.S.G., Psilocybin, Paragliders and Superspy. His first record was released as Force Legato on ZYX Music, and his meeting with Matthias Schindehutte led in 1992 to the Harthouse label for the Spicelab project. From 1993 he developed L.S.G. on Superstition, an important alias in his discography, paused in 2007 and revived in 2015. He has also collaborated with Harald Großkopf in The Ambush and with figures from the German scene such as Torsten Fenslau and Pascal F.E.O.S. The track “Netherworld”, released as L.S.G. in 1997, remains a landmark in his career.
