Nickless

Born in Zurich and raised in Uetikon am See, Nickless, whose real name is Nicola Kneringer, initially trained as a drummer before turning to singing, guitar and writing his own songs. His trajectory begins very early on stage, then becomes clearer through experiences in different bands, a studio stint as an assistant and a stay in London, where he adopts his stage name. His music sits within melodic English-language pop, infused with folk accents, light rock and synth-pop, with a marked fondness for direct choruses and a color sometimes tinted by 1980s influences. After touring in Switzerland with 77 Bombay Street and then Bastian Baker, Nickless launched his solo project with the single Waiting in 2015, followed by the album Four Years in 2016 and Chapters in 2018. Used to Swiss stages, between headlining concerts, festivals and opening acts, Nickless later took a break before returning with a new series of tracks, including Already Gone, Walking Down the Line and Let You Down in 2023, then the EP C’est La Vie, Baby! in 2024. Parallel to his performing activity, Nickless also writes for other artists, extending a career built between live performance, studio work and radio-format pop.
