NateWantsToBattle
Under the name NateWantsToBattle, Nathan Sharp has developed since the early 2010s a musical project situated between pop-punk, alternative rock and songwriting inspired by video games and Japanese animation. A Korean-American singer, songwriter and voice actor, NateWantsToBattle first gained traction online with covers and tracks tied to gaming and anime franchises before broadening his catalogue with more personal songs. His music relies on direct guitars, melodic choruses and contemporary rock production, with an emo-pop sensibility and a marked taste for narrative formats. This evolution is reflected on the albums Sands of Time (2017), Paid in Exposure (2018) and To Let Go (2020), which chart the passage from an internet-born project to a structured career encompassing studio releases, original compositions and image-related collaborations. In parallel, NateWantsToBattle has contributed to official projects for Dragon Ball Super, Sonic the Hedgehog and Pokémon, while continuing his voice work in animation and video games.
