Morad

Born in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat in the Barcelona area, Morad has been developing a writing style rooted in Spanish street rap since the late 2010s, with a strong presence of drill, trap and influences from French and Maghrebi rap. Of Moroccan origin, he began releasing tracks in 2018 and quickly established a direct tone focused on everyday life, neighborhood life and the social trajectories that run through his lyrics. His first album, M.D.L.R, was released in 2019, followed by the EP M.D.L.R 2.0 in 2020, which extended this dry, intermittently melodic aesthetic carried by cadenced flows and restrained hooks. Morad then broadened his audience with several singles and a collaboration with Bizarrap in 2021 on BZRP Music Sessions #47. His path also includes collective and duo projects, notably Capítulo 1 with Beny Jr in 2022 and Zizou with Dellafuente in 2023. That same year he released Reinsertado, an album that synthesizes his different registers between drill, trap and melodic rap. Morad is thus part of a Spanish urban scene connected to Barcelona, Madrid, France and the Maghreb, while retaining an immediately identifiable vocal identity.
