Mishima
Formed in Barcelona in 1999 around David Carabén, Mishima became part of the Catalan independent scene as a five‑piece combining guitars, keyboards, bass and drums. Mishima developed a melodic indie rock with pop overtones, driven by strongly present lyrics and arrangements that favour the clarity of the songs. The foundations of this language appear on Lipstick Traces (2000), The Fall of Public Man (2003) and Trucar a casa, recollir les fotos, pagar la multa (2005). Collaboration with producer Paco Loco ushered in a new phase on Set tota la vida (2007), Ordre i aventura (2010) and L’amor feliç (2012). In 2014 Mishima recorded L’ànsia que cura with Peter Deimel at Studio Black Box in western France, and later reunited with the same engineer for Ara i res (2017). The band then released Ara i aquí (2019), marking twenty years on stage, followed by L’aigua clara (2022). Over the years Mishima has been structured around David Carabén, Marc Lloret and Dani Vega, with Xavi Caparrós and Alfons Serra joining in 2010.
