Nymfo
Active since the second half of the 2000s, Nymfo established himself on the Dutch drum and bass scene before expanding his reach internationally. Based in the Netherlands, Nymfo develops a sound focused on nervous, precise drum and bass at the intersection of the dancefloor, techstep and more techno-leaning influences, with productions built around taut rhythms, dense basses and a direct compositional approach. Since 2007 he has released regularly on genre-defining labels such as RAM Records, Hospital Records, Metalheadz, Dispatch Recordings, CIA, Spearhead and Commercial Suicide, placing his work across several branches of the British and European scenes. Over his career Nymfo has also released tracks with Black Sun Empire, Maduk and June Miller while maintaining an active DJ schedule. In clubs as well as at festivals he has played stages like Tomorrowland, Mysteryland and Lowlands, with dates across Europe, the Americas, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. For Nymfo, both the approach to mixing and to production remains tied to a broad reading of drum and bass, balancing dancefloor effectiveness with darker textures.
