Natacha Atlas

Natacha Atlas has established herself as one of the most singular voices at the crossroads of electronic music, Middle Eastern sounds and Western influences. Born in Brussels into a family of diverse origins, she develops a style that blends Arabic language, ornamented singing, raï tradition, cosmopolitan pop and electronic textures. Revealed in the 1990s within Transglobal Underground, she subsequently builds a solo career marked by albums that explore as much oriental fusion as trip-hop, jazz or orchestral music. Albums such as Diaspora, Gedida and Myriad Road testify to her taste for cultural bridges, for an aesthetic that is at once spiritual, sensual and resolutely contemporary. Based today between London and the Middle East, she regularly collaborates with composers, orchestras and producers from around the world, and continues a body of work in constant evolution, where tradition reinvents itself in contact with a modernity open to all influences.
