Muriel Robin
Born in Montbrison in the Loire in 1955, Muriel Robin trained at Cours Florent and then at the Conservatoire national supérieur d’art dramatique in Paris before joining Roger Louret’s troupe Les Baladins en Agenais. After a stint at the Petit Théâtre de Bouvard, she became known to the wider public through the show La Classe in 1988, the same year she and Pierre Palmade created the show Les majorettes se cachent pour mourir. Her stage career has since alternated between solo performances and duets, including Un point c’est tout (1989), Tout m’énerve (1990), Bedos/Robin (1992), Toute seule comme une grande (1998), Au secours ! (2005) and Muriel Robin revient, tsoin tsoin (2013). Her work is grounded in observations of everyday life, characters and situations, written as sketches that sit as comfortably in theatre as in comedy. At the same time, Muriel Robin has developed a career as an actress for theatre, film and television, notably Marie-Line (2000), Fugueuses (2007), Marie Besnard, l’empoisonneuse (2006) — a role that earned her an International Emmy Award in 2007 — and the series Master Crimes from 2023. She is also a writer, stage director and filmmaker, notably for I Love You coiffure (2020).
