Little Caesar

Formed in Los Angeles in 1987, Little Caesar fits into the American hard rock scene of the late 1980s with a sound fed by 70s rock, heavy rock, blues and soul. The band originally brought together Ron Young on vocals, Loren Molinare and Apache on guitars, Fidel Paniagua on bass and Tom Morris on drums. After an initial appearance on the Street Survivors compilation and the Name Your Poison EP in 1989, Little Caesar signed with Geffen and released the album Little Caesar in 1990, produced by Bob Rock. This record laid the foundations of its identity, between massive riffs, groove rock and covers from the soul repertoire such as Chain of Fools and I Wish It Would Rain. The band then toured with several American rock outfits and also appeared on television in the early 1990s. In 1992, Little Caesar released Influence, with Earl Slick on guitar, in a still hard rock vein but more marked by classic rock and rhythm and blues, before a breakup in the same year. After various projects led notably by Ron Young, Little Caesar re-formed in 2001, resumed club concerts and relaunched its discography with Redemption in 2009, then American Dream in 2012 and Eight in 2018. In this second period, Little Caesar retains a direct approach to hard rock, centered on thick guitars and a rasping voice deeply rooted in blues and soul traditions.
