Mauro Picotto

Born in Cavour near Turin, Mauro Picotto began in the early-1990s Italian eurodance scene as part of the R.A.F. project and within the orbit of Media Records, before shifting his production toward melodic trance and later a more progressive, percussive techno. A producer and DJ active since the late 1980s, Picotto built a club sound based on short synthetic motifs, efficient structures and continuous rhythmic tension. In the late 1990s and early 2000s he released tracks that were widely played across European stages — including “Lizard”, “Iguana”, “Komodo”, “Pulsar” and “Proximus” — while also working under the alias CRW and alongside Mario Più; Tiësto is also among his collaborators. Notable releases include The Double Album (2000), The Others (2002), A Call in the Club (2017) and From the 80’s Til Now (2023). After leaving Media Records he launched Bakerloo Music and the label Alchemy, continuing his involvement in the European trance and techno circuits with a regular presence in Ibiza around the Meganite party.
