Low Jack
Born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, in 1985 and based in Paris, Philippe Hallais, under the name Low Jack, develops electronic music that bridges club codes and more experimental forms—between tense techno, abrasive electro, off-kilter rhythms and industrial textures. Low Jack emerged in the early 2010s with a series of EPs that established a dry, fragmented and physical language, before Garifuna Variations in 2014, an album conceived from a commission by the Musée du quai Branly and Les Siestes Électroniques around a sound fiction linked to Garifuna culture. With Sewing Machine (2015) and then Lighthouse Stories (2016), Low Jack continued this shift between dance music, collage, noise and atmospheric narration. Alongside his productions, Low Jack regularly DJs and performs live in clubs and digital arts festivals, with appearances at CTM, Unsound and Berghain. His trajectory also includes collaborations beyond the strictly musical field, notably with the Italian duo Invernomuto.
