Lily Kershaw

Born in Los Angeles, Lily Kershaw situates her work within a singer-songwriter framework where folk-pop, indie pop and ballads with spare arrangements intersect, led by a gentle voice and a highly narrative approach. She emerged in the early 2010s with the album Midnight in the Garden (2013), which established a melancholic, pared-down world, and continued that vein with the EP Lost Angeles (2018) and the album Arcadia (2021), broadening her palette toward a more expansive pop while remaining within an intimate register. Her music has also been placed in television shows such as Criminal Minds, Grey’s Anatomy and Finding Carter, a context that helped circulate her songs beyond the confines of the indie-folk circuit. On stage, Lily Kershaw has performed alongside artists like Radical Face, Mason Jennings, The Weepies and Joshua Radin, in settings close to the American indie-folk scene. With the track “Depreshmode”, produced by Brandon Walters, she returns to a personal songwriting centered on the experience of depression, in a direct and restrained pop-folk format.
