John 5
Guitarist John 5, born in 1971 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and whose real name is John William Lowery, established himself in the 1990s as a versatile studio musician in Los Angeles before joining David Lee Roth's band and, at the end of the decade, Marilyn Manson. From 2005 he became part of Rob Zombie’s circle while simultaneously building a solo discography centered on highly technical instrumental playing that blends heavy metal, hard rock, country, bluegrass and surf. His solo career began with the album “Vertigo” (2004) and continued with releases such as “The Devil Knows My Name” (2007), “God Told Me To” (2012), “Invasion” (2019) and “Sinner” (2021). Under the name John 5 and The Creatures he brings this work to the stage with a trio focused on structured instrumental compositions performed in rock and metal venues. His style relies on alternating heavy riffs, fast shredding passages and country-influenced ornamentation, often paired with an aesthetic drawn from horror cinema. From 2022 John 5 joined Mötley Crüe as a live guitarist, adding another chapter to a career marked by numerous long-term projects in North American rock and metal.
