Anthony Green
Born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, in 1982, Anthony Green emerged on the North American alternative and post-hardcore scene of the early 2000s as the singer of Saosin, before leaving the band and co-founding Circa Survive in 2004. With that outfit—rooted in experimental rock and an emo/indie aesthetic—Green developed a frequently high-register vocal style and songwriting focused on the personal, spirituality, and mental health. Alongside Circa Survive, he pursued numerous collaborative projects, notably in the experimental collective The Sound of Animals Fighting and, later, in the post-hardcore supergroup L.S. Dunes, formed in the early 2020s. Green’s solo career began in 2008 with the album Avalon, marked by a more acoustic and melodic approach, followed by Beautiful Things (2012), Young Legs (2013), Pixie Queen (2016), Would You Still Be In Love (2018), and Boom. Done. (2022), where he explores various shades of indie rock, introspective ballads, and more stripped-back writing. Between his band projects and his personal releases, Anthony Green occupies a singular place at the intersection of post-hardcore, indie rock, and American alternative music.
