Jean-Félix Lalanne

Born in 1962 in Nice, Jean-Félix Lalanne gradually established himself on the French music scene as a guitarist, composer and arranger operating between instrumental music, chanson and music for the screen. Trained early on in acoustic guitar, he developed a style combining fingerpicking, folk influences, jazz colors and a compositional approach close to classical music, which he performs solo, in duo or within larger ensembles. Based in Paris, from the 1980s he engaged in numerous collaborations with French chanson artists and worked regularly with his brother Francis Lalanne, while continuing to compose instrumental pieces. From the 1990s his work extended to film, TV films and series, where he has written scores in which the guitar often plays a central role. He also conceived the stage project “Autour de la guitare,” a concert series bringing together various guitarists and singers around repertoires that mix standards, chanson and original compositions, helping to anchor his work within a network of musicians from pop, rock and jazz. His aesthetic remains marked by a pursuit of melody and harmonic clarity, with the acoustic guitar as the guiding thread of his stage and studio activities.
