Jakob Sveistrup
Born in 1972 in Odense, Denmark, Jakob Sveistrup first came to public attention in the early 2000s when he took part in the TV show Stjerne for en aften, after several years working as a special‑needs teacher. The exposure led him to the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2005, which he won with the song Tænder på dig, later recorded in English as "Talking to You" for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, where he represented Denmark. His songwriting and performance sit between melodic pop, soul and soft rock, with a strong emphasis on vocals and accessible arrangements often tinged with light grooves. Sveistrup released a self‑titled debut in 2005, followed by Fragments (2006) and 3 (2010), consolidating a repertoire of ballads and more up‑tempo tracks in Danish and English. He has since maintained a steady presence on stage with his band — concerts, festivals and TV appearances — and is firmly established within the Danish pop scene.
