Isam B

Born in Copenhagen into a family of Moroccan origin, Isam B developed early on a hybrid relationship with music, between urban Danish culture and North African heritage. Initially identified as a singer and songwriter within the hip-hop group Outlandish, formed in the late 1990s, he gradually established himself as a central voice of that project, which blends rap, soul, pop and so-called world influences against a backdrop of lyrics concerned with identity, spirituality and migration. Parallel to touring and recording with Outlandish, he embarked on a solo path under the name Isam B, exploring a more melodic, often sung register at the intersection of contemporary R&B, acoustic pop and introspective songcraft, in both English and Danish. This solo activity has led him to collaborate with various Scandinavian and international producers and musicians, and to contribute to film and television soundtracks.
