Karotte

Born in Friedrichsthal in Saarland under the name Peter Cornely, Karotte has since the late 1980s established himself as a regular presence on the German electronic scene, between house and techno in a direct, club-oriented approach, flexible and groove-centered. He began mixing in several clubs in Saarland before joining in 1994 the Aufschwung Ost club in Kassel, which later became Stammheim, where his residency helped anchor him firmly in the German circuit. Karotte then developed DJ activity on the major house and techno stages of the country, with extended stints at U60311 in Frankfurt, then Cocoon Club from 2006, as well as at Harry Klein in Munich, of which he had long been one of the regular faces before continuing at Pacha Munich after the venue's closure. Alongside his sets, Karotte hosts the Karotte’s Kitchen show on sunshine live and has also been associated with hr3 clubnight. On the production side, his discography includes Go to Bed (2006), Sol with Gregor Tresher (2011), followed by Knocking Echoes EP and Namaka with Kaiserdisco (2017). Karotte has also released several mix compilations, including U60311 Compilation House Division Vol. 1 (2002), Stick Of Joy (2004), Flokati House (2005) and the Karotte’s Kitchen volumes released in 2003, 2007 and 2008.
