Heisskalt

Formed in Stuttgart, Germany, in the early 2010s, Heisskalt emerged on the German-language rock scene with a blend of post-hardcore, alternative rock and German-sung emo. The band developed a sound defined by nervous guitars, contrasts between tense passages and more melodic sections, and vocals that shift between clean lines and screamed parts. After a period of emergence built on early releases and numerous club and small-festival shows, Heisskalt consolidated its position with the 2013 album “Vom Stehen und Fallen,” which revealed songwriting focused on inner tensions and observations of everyday life. In 2016, “Vom Wissen und Wollen” broadened the scope with more structured compositions and a stronger group dynamic, before “Idylle” (2018) pushed the contrasts further between raw energy, atmospheric passages and introspective lyrics. Regularly present on rock and alternative stages across Germany, Heisskalt has moved toward a tighter but coherent discography that favors the gradual evolution of the band’s sound and its approach to the German language within a guitar-rock context.
