Frittenbude
Founded in Bavaria in 2006 during a trip to the Pfingst‑Open‑Air in Passau, Frittenbude later settled in Berlin and initially made its way through the German‑language indie scenes with remixes and a blend of electropunk, abrasive synthpop, spoken‑word rap and electronic indie. Long established as a trio, Frittenbude has continued as a duo since Martin Steer’s departure in 2022, centered on Jakob Häglsperger and Johannes Rögner. The first album, Nachtigall (2008), set the foundation for German‑language songwriting that mixes club culture, humour, political tension and social observation. Katzengold (2010), Delfinarium (2012) and Küken des Orion (2015) broadened the spectrum toward more melodic songs and a fuller production. Closely associated with the Audiolith scene for much of their career, Frittenbude have also played numerous festivals and collaborated sporadically, while maintaining an identity defined by direct choruses, taut beats and a tone that sits between irony and unease. After Rote Sonne (2019), the band released Apokalypse Wow in 2023 on their own label, confirming a darker, tighter formula that remains positioned between punk energy, club electronics and alternative pop.
