Gemeliers

Formed by twin brothers Jesús and Daniel Oviedo in Seville, Gemeliers belong to a strand of Spanish pop aimed at a teenage audience, with marked influences from Latin pop and romantic ballads. Spotted very young on Andalusian regional television and later widely exposed nationally in the mid-2010s, the two singers built a career under the name Gemeliers centered on accessible melodies, instantly memorable choruses and lyrics that revolve around romantic relationships and coming of age. The duo released an initial series of studio albums, “Lo Mejor Está por Venir” (2014), “Mil y Una Noches” (2015) and “Gracias” (2016), which established a pop universe with bright arrangements close to contemporary Spanish popular music. With “Stereo” (2018), Gemeliers gradually steered their sound toward more current productions, incorporating rhythms and timbres from Latin urban music while retaining a highly melodic song format. Between tours in Spain, a regular presence in Spanish-language media and a shift toward a more adult image, Gemeliers continue a trajectory that accompanies their generation, adapting their songwriting and aesthetic to the codes of Latin pop of the 2010s and 2020s.
