iAROSS

Born in Montpellier around Nicolas Iarossi, initially solo before taking the shape of a band at the turn of the 2010s, iAROSS evolves at the edge of French chanson, rock and a more experimental writing style. The project was built with a lineup where singing, cello, guitar, drums and electronic textures intersect, in a balance between rock tension, spoken word, dark melodies and atmospheric arrangements. Led by Nicolas Iarossi with Colin Vincent and, depending on the period, different drummers including Germain Lebot and later Julien Grégoire, iAROSS develops a live repertoire that has drawn attention in the chanson and contemporary music circuits in France as well as Switzerland. After the Lazar EP in 2009, iAROSS released Ventre in 2012, then Renverser in 2013, two records that establish a dense, nervous and literary aesthetic. The group continues this trajectory with Fragments, a live EP released in 2016, followed by Le cri des fourmis in 2017. On stage, iAROSS frequents both the chanson networks and rockier venues, in a trio format that highlights the contrast between rhythmic intensity, vocal grain and work on textures.
