Fiddler's Green

Formed in 1990 in Erlangen, Germany, Fiddler's Green crafts a fusion of folk rock, Celtic sounds and folk punk that the band dubs 'speedfolk.' They draw on melodies inspired by Irish and Scottish traditions, blended with an energy close to punk and alternative rock, with a strong emphasis on collective choruses and brisk tempos. Over the years the lineup has evolved around a core of musicians committed to the live scene, touring extensively across Germany and Europe, from clubs to major folk and rock festivals. Fiddler's Green's discography includes a series of studio albums that gradually cemented this sound, including Wall Of Folk (2009), Sports Day at Killaloe (2011), Winners & Boozers (2013), Devil's Dozen (2016), Heyday (2019) and The Green Machine (2023). Their concerts alternate between rearranged traditional standards and original compositions, giving substantial space to group vocals and instrumental passages, situating the band between amplified folk and the European alternative music culture.
