Dolu Kadehi Ters Tut

Formed in Istanbul in 2014 by Mehmet Uğurhan Özay and Mürsel Oğulcan Ava, Dolu Kadehi Ters Tut, often abbreviated as DKTT, sits in an alternative rock vein that has gradually incorporated elements of funk rock, pop rock and more electronic productions. The duo first drew attention with the self-recorded 2015 album Polonya’nın Başı Belada, before a first studio album, Dünyanın En İyi Albümü, released in 2017. Dolu Kadehi Ters Tut then develops writing focused on relationships, contemporary malaise and social pressure, in tracks that alternate nerve-wracking guitars, melodic choruses and more direct passages. The band later expands its live format by surrounding itself with additional musicians and multiplies collaborations with Turkish scene artists such as Can Ozan, Deniz Tekin, Dilan Balkay, Sedef Sebüktekin, Ozbi or Selin. After Karanlık in 2019, denser and darker, and DKTT in 2021, Dolu Kadehi Ters Tut continues its evolution with Ölüm Dansı in 2023, conceived with its live crew and marked by a more front-facing rock tension. Present in both independent circuits and on large-capacity stages in Turkey, Dolu Kadehi Ters Tut has also begun European tours, confirming the widening of its audience beyond Istanbul.
