Pinhani

Formed in Istanbul in 2004 around Sinan Kaynakçı and Zeynep Eylül Üçer, Pinhani developed a sound where Turkish alternative rock meets pop rock, acoustic soft rock and elements of Anatolian rock and folk music. The band, now organized as a quartet around Sinan Kaynakçı, Hami Ünlü, Selim Aydın and Eray Polat, first drew attention with the album İnandığın Masallar in 2006 and then Zaman Beklemez in 2008, at a time when several tracks circulated widely thanks to the series Kavak Yelleri, whose theme song Hele Bi Gel served as its signature. Over the years Pinhani broadened its writing without abandoning a sober, melodic and direct form, evident on Başka Şeyler (2012), the acoustic live Canlı Yayın (2013) and Kediköy (2016). The band then deepened its dialogue with popular traditions on On Türkü (2018), before continuing to alternate between original songs and live recordings with Yollar Bizi Bekler (2019) and Küçük Bir Evde (2021). In 2023 Pinhani also released Beraber Beraber with Yayla Trio, a project focused on regional repertoires, and Hayali, which continues its balance between soft rock, folk arrangements and intimate songwriting.
