Funk D'Void

Under the name Funk D'Void, Scottish producer and DJ Lars Sandberg emerged in the mid-1990s within the Glasgow scene, notably via Soma Recordings, with a supple, detail-oriented techno that fused house, acid, electro and Detroit influences. He then moved toward a more melodic and atmospheric compositional style while retaining a club-focused foundation, before steering part of his output toward a drier, more taut form of techno. Albums such as Technoir (1996), Executional Style (1998) and Diabla (2001) mark this progression, and his DJ sets, remixes and collaborations on the international electronic circuit have firmly established him in the European techno and house scenes. Later based in Barcelona, Funk D'Void maintains a language centered on groove, rhythmic depth and understated textures, producing work that links British rave culture with a more stripped-down approach to the dancefloor.
