Diljit Dosanjh

Situated at the crossroads of Punjabi pop, bhangra and hip-hop influences, Diljit Dosanjh hails from Indian Punjab and has built a career since the mid-2000s as a singer, songwriter and actor. First noticed on the regional scene thanks to a string of Punjabi albums and dance-oriented tracks, he evolved his writing into a blend of folk melodies, pop choruses and more urban productions, sung mainly in Punjabi and occasionally in Hindi. From the early 2010s he established himself in Punjabi cinema with several romantic comedies, then crossed over to the Hindi film industry with roles in films such as "Udta Punjab" (2016), while also contributing songs to their soundtracks. On the recording side, projects like "G.O.A.T." (2020), "MoonChild Era" (2021) and "Ghost" (2023) mark a more global phase of his career, supported by regular collaborations with producers from the Punjabi scene and Indian hip-hop. Very active on stage, Diljit Dosanjh now divides his repertoire between concerts in India and tours for diasporas in North America and Europe.
