David Ford

Born in Dartford, Kent, David Ford first played with Easyworld, a trio formed in the late 1990s in Eastbourne, with whom he released a mini‑album and two albums before the band split in 2004. He then pursued a solo career characterised by singer‑songwriter writing influenced by indie rock, folk‑rock and alternative pop, often in a compact format centred on guitar, vocals and spare or layered live arrangements. His debut album, I Sincerely Apologise for All the Trouble I’ve Caused, was released in 2005, followed by Songs for the Road (2007), Let the Hard Times Roll (2010), Charge (2013), The Arrangement (2014), Animal Spirits (2018), May You Live In Interesting Times (2022) and Love and Death the same year. David Ford has toured the UK and the United States, both as a headline act and as an opener for artists such as KT Tunstall, Elvis Costello and Gomez, and has performed at festivals including Latitude, Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits. Alongside his performing career, one of his compositions, I’m Alright Now, was adapted for Johnny Hallyday under the title 20 ans.
