Dardust

Under the name Dardust, Dario Faini, born in Ascoli Piceno, Italy, has been developing work since the mid-2010s that sits between contemporary piano, neoclassical and electronic music. His writing relies on brief melodic motifs, repetitive progressions and production with ambient, synthetic and sometimes more rhythmic textures, striking a balance between chamber music, instrumental pop and cinematic soundscapes. The Dardust project took shape with 7 in 2015, followed by Birth in 2016, then S.A.D. Storm and Drugs in 2020, Duality in 2022 and Urban Impressionism in 2024. Alongside this instrumental repertoire, Dario Faini is active as a composer, songwriter and producer in Italian pop, also credited as DRD, which places Dardust both within contemporary music circles and popular songwriting. On stage, Dardust presents his pieces in live formats that move between concert halls, festivals and visually driven venues, with a consistent focus on the dialogue between music, space and architecture.
