Da Capo

Born in South Africa and associated with the Seshego scene in Limpopo, Da Capo has developed since the early 2010s a trajectory rooted in South African house, with a sound that sits between deep house, afro house and soulful accents. As a producer and DJ, Da Capo constructs tracks built on fluid percussion, progressive melodic lines and a prominent role for vocals, balancing club effectiveness with more introspective atmospheres. His name gained wider recognition from 2013 with the Surreal Selections Vol. 1 project, made with Punk Mbedzi, followed by a series of solo releases and remixes that established him in South Africa's house circuits and later on European stages. Over the course of his career he has worked with artists and producers such as Ralf GUM, Clara Hill and Rona Ray, as well as South African groups like Freshlyground and The Soil. His music has evolved toward a spacious, hypnotic and melodic afro house, conceived as much for the dancefloor as for attentive listening, which explains his regular presence in clubs, festivals and house- and electronic-focused programs.
