Acid Drinkers

Formed in Poznań in 1986 around Tomasz 'Titus' Pukacki, Acid Drinkers established themselves on the Polish metal scene with a sound that sits between thrash metal, crossover thrash, heavy metal and speed metal, at times enriched by hardcore accents and groove metal. The band truly took off at the turn of the 1990s with Are You a Rebel? in 1990, followed by a series of albums that established a nervous, direct style, often traversed by a dark humor present in the lyrics. Over the years, Acid Drinkers has maintained a thrash-based foundation while evolving their writing on albums such as Infernal Connection (1994), The State of Mind Report (1996), High Proof Cosmic Milk (1998), Acidofilia (2002), Rock Is Not Enough (2004), Verses of Steel (2008), La part du diable (2012), 25 Cents for a Riff (2014) and Peep Show (2016). The band's trajectory is also marked by several guitarists changes, notably Robert 'Litza' Friedrich, Przemysław Wejmann, Tomasz Lipnicki, Aleksander Mendyk and Wojciech Moryto, while Titus, Dariusz 'Popcorn' Popowicz and Maciej 'Ślimak' Starosta remained the main anchors. Accustomed to big rock and metal stages in Poland, Acid Drinkers have also recorded cover albums, including Fishdick (1994), Fishdick Zwei – The Dick Is Rising Again (2010) and Ladies and Gentlemen on Acid (2019). After a period of inactivity around 2020, Acid Drinkers played again in 2024 with its original lineup and announced a return to performing on stage in 2025.
