Georgia Cécile

Born and trained in Scotland, between Glasgow and Edinburgh, Georgia Cécile develops a repertoire located at the crossroads of vocal jazz, soul and orchestrated pop, with a writing style marked by the standards of 1960s and 1970s songwriting. After studying music at Edinburgh Napier University, she moves to London, where she sharpens a personal language fed by jazz, soulful storytelling and arrangements with a cinematic flair. Georgia Cécile has long worked with pianist and composer Euan Stevenson, a central partnership in shaping her songs and her musical identity. Her clear, nuanced voice sits within an aesthetic where interpretation remains sober, precise and expressive, without taking attention away from the melody. Her debut album Only the Lover Sings (2021) lays the foundations of this universe, blending original compositions, jazz influences and contemporary writing. On stage, Georgia Cécile performs in clubs as well as larger venues, and has notably shared the bill with Gregory Porter or collaborated with the BBC Concert Orchestra. Her career sits within the current British jazz scene, while maintaining a strong anchor in the tradition of soul and jazz singing.
