Jonas Lundqvist

Born in 1980 in Härlanda, Gothenburg, Jonas Lundqvist first became known as the drummer of Bad Cash Quartet, a Swedish indie pop scene band formed in his teens and active until the mid-2000s. After the band’s breakup in 2004, Lundqvist began a solo career under the name Jonas Game with ADHD in 2007, an English-sung album, before returning under his own name and in Swedish with Så e de me de in 2012, produced by Rasmus Hägg. His music then sits within melodic pop‑rock lo-fi contours, traversed by the Göteborg sound heritage, with direct songs, spare arrangements and writing attentive to daily life as well as intimate tensions. Lundqvist continues this trajectory with Vissa nätter in 2016, Affärer in 2018, Dubbla fantasier in 2020, produced by Jocke Åhlund, Den okända floden in 2022 and Sorgetornets spejare in 2024. Between indie pop, Swedish rock and electric chanson, Lundqvist has built a personal repertoire that extends the spirit of his early group days while moving toward a more introspective form, carried by a flexible voice and compositions that are both immediate and restrained.
