Dr. Lektroluv
Under the green mask of Dr. Lektroluv lies Stefaan Vandenberghe, Belgian DJ and producer active in electronic music since the late 1980s. Initially involved in the local scene via radio and the development of the Music Man Records label, he launched the Dr. Lektroluv project in the early 2000s and made it a distinct stage identity, associated with a recognizable visual universe and with sets oriented toward electro, techno and dance. Dr. Lektroluv then joined the electro wave that links Belgian New Beat and EBM heritage to more contemporary sounds, with a marked taste for dry rhythms, punchy basslines and a dark but direct aesthetic, designed for clubs and festivals. His career largely goes through the live scene, with appearances at events such as Pukkelpop, Rock Werchter or Extrema Outdoor, and by a series of mix albums published in the 2000s, among which Lektroluv, the new preskriptions of Dr. Lektroluv, Infekted by Dr. Lektroluv, Lektrokuted, Lektroluv 5, Elektrik Planet, Lektroluv 007, Dr. Lektroluv live at Werchter 2007 and Dr. Lektroluv live recorded at Pukkelpop 2008. Over the years, Dr. Lektroluv has kept a place tied to Belgian club culture, between electro-house, techno and older references to electro and danceable industrial.
