Grindpad

Formed in Utrecht, the Netherlands, Grindpad operates in a direct and nerve-wracking thrash metal, strongly anchored in the Bay Area thrash aesthetics of the 1980s, with fast riffs, driving tempos and a marked taste for shouted choruses and on-stage energy. Active since the mid-2000s, the band is part of the Dutch metal scene with a deliberately faithful approach to the genre's classic codes, balancing aggression, visual humor and imagery inspired by old-school metal. Grindpad first circulates its music on the live scene and through a series of releases that gradually establish its identity, before the release of Sharkbite! EP in 2017, followed by the Violence album in 2020. In 2023, Grindpad continues this journey with the Finger Collector Crew EP. The band pairs this repertoire with a recurring graphic identity and a live universe where references to sharks recur, becoming a hallmark of its image. Grindpad regularly plays on metal-focused stages and on the European underground circuit, in a register that blends traditional thrash, pronounced groove and crossover spirit, without trying to move away from a frontal and immediately legible format.
