Shawnecy

Based in Frankfurt, Shawnecy first circulated on European stages as a dancer and choreographer from adolescence before turning to electronic production, a path that illuminates the very physical relationship of his music to rhythm. Active between house and techno, Shawnecy develops a club-oriented sound, with supple basslines, punchy percussion and a taste for melodic pads that move energy without weighing it down. After several years of studio work before his first maxis, he releases tracks on labels such as Cocoon, Desolat, Terminal M, Get Physical or Snatch! Records, markers that place Shawnecy in a German house-techno scene open to international circulations. His collaboration with Pele on “Better For My Brain” in 2016 widely contributed to his visibility, while showing a more direct writing, built for the dancefloor but attentive to texture details. As a DJ, Shawnecy navigates between intimate clubs and larger formats, with stops in several European countries, in the Americas, in Oceania and on Ibiza-related stages. His journey thus links the Frankfurt underground culture, the body-practice inherited from dance and electronic production thought in a constant balance between tension, groove and flexibility.
