From Mexico, Grito Exclamac!ón develops a taut, frontal form of post-punk where no wave, dance-punk, spoken word and punk energy intersect in a raw, tense aesthetic. The project takes the form of an artistic collective, with an approach that privileges both live charge and writing, between angular guitars, melodic bass, shifting rhythms, and more unexpected interventions that sharpen the jagged character of the whole. Grito Exclamac!ón structures its tracks around incisive texts on alienation, identity and everyday social tensions, in a direct register that seeks impact over abstraction. Active on the Mexican independent scene, the group sits in a context where circulations between punk, performance and counterculture remain central. Their first album, Grito Exclamac!ón, was released in 2023 and lays the foundations for this abrasive writing, at once theatrical, rhythmic and collective. Grito Exclamac!ón builds a compact sound, willingly chaotic but legible, carried by a constant tension between urgency, catharsis and a sense of movement.
