Occult Hand Order

Formed in Lyon, Occult Hand Order evolves into a trio in a register where doom metal, post-rock and ethereal-tinged atmospheric textures intersect. The band develops slow, dense and introspective music, built on heavy riffs, elongated progressions and more contemplative passages that install a nearly ritual tension. Appearing in the late 2010s, Occult Hand Order initially circulated its first tracks on streaming platforms and Bandcamp, asserting a dark, cosmic and highly narrative aesthetic. Their approach sits within an underground scene attentive to long forms and contrasts between power and suspension, with a marked fondness for foggy atmospheres as much as for the impact of doom. Occult Hand Order released the album Meaningless Monuments in 2026 on Totem Cat Records, a record that extends this direction with a more cinematic writing, focused on themes of intimate collapse, apocalypse and a search for meaning. Not seeking a demonstrative effect, Occult Hand Order favors a dynamic of slow ascent, hypnotic repetition and sonic space, at the boundary between heavy metal and meditative drift.
