Soleá Morente

Born in Madrid in 1985 and raised in Granada, Soleá Morente places her career in a constant dialogue between flamenco heritage and pop songwriting. The daughter of Enrique Morente and Aurora Carbonell and sister of Estrella and Kiki Morente, she participated in family recordings from a young age before developing a personal trajectory where nuevo flamenco, indie pop, pop rock and touches of alternative rock intersect. Her name began to circulate more widely in the early 2010s with Los Evangelistas, a project formed around musicians from Los Planetas and Lagartija Nick as a tribute to her father, and then with the EP Encuentro in 2013, on which Soleá Morente is the lead vocalist. As a solo artist she released Tendrá que haber un camino (2015), Ole Lorelei (2018), Lo que te falta (2020) and Aurora y Enrique (2021) — records that demonstrate a flexible way of combining cante, pop melodies and more contemporary textures without breaking with Andalusian tradition. She also took part in the Prado Negro project, focused on setting poetic texts to music, and has worked in parallel in theatre, film and radio, confirming a career rooted in the Spanish cultural scene beyond flamenco alone.
